Summer Gratitude

I chose to spend World Yoga Day and the Summer Solstice taking some time out to be in nature. I started my day watching the sunrise and chanting at the top of a sacred spot close to where I live. The majority of the rest of the day was spent on the beach which is definitely my happy place. I love being by the sea. While being there, I spent time sitting quietly, contemplating and meditating and feeling immensely grateful for the privilege of being so close to Mother Nature and for all that life has given me to bring me to this sacred moment.

In addition to embracing the powerful energy of the solstice, I was also thinking about what World Yoga Day actually means to me.

I've been practicing yoga since the mid-70s or early 70s,

So what does this day represent for me?

I am incredibly grateful to yoga for all it brings to my life and that I have been able to share that with so many.

The world of yoga has changed over the years as has my practice. I'm deeply grateful for the ongoing transformation that comes when we dig deep into Yoga.

As a trainer and leader I have had the absolute privilege to hear so many powerful and humbling stories of how Special Yoga practices have truly changed lives. Something magical happens when we are able to connect to our hearts and cultivate a genuine kindness to ourselves and all that we are in the messiness of being human. I believe that yoga is Love in Action. It really is so amazing to witness how life unfolds and opens up for us when we commit to the practice, and how it then transforms the children around us.

I feel deeply grateful for the journey that I am on through my years of yoga practice. I can only share what I have experienced for myself.

The solstice offers the opportunity to reflect on where we are, and offer gratitude and blessings for the light, as today is the longest day of the year.

With deep gratitude, I wish you all multiple blessings.
